This upper comes with a proprietary side charging bolt carrier group. As is, this upper comes with a 5.56 BCG but can be swapped for standard cut bolts to accommodate other calibers.
This upper does not utilize a standard charging handle and has a threaded plug in the back of the receiver. The upper charges via a screw-in bolt on the side of the BCG, similar to an AK-style rifle.
This upper can be set up as a left-side, right-side, or ambidextrous charging upper. The casing will always eject to the right regardless of configuration.
