Not only is the barrel light but accurate to. boot. Easy assembly with its pre-dimpled barrel and gas block assembled. Obtained a 2″ best group at 100 yards. Russian manufactured ammo. Better ammo could only produce better results.

A super light barrel. This barrel has approx 0.500 inches under the handguard. It is the thinnest lightest barrel I have ever seen. It shoots decently. the 0.625 gas block journal is not long enough for a normal front sight block so not a good choice for retro builds but a very light barrel that shoots reasonably well.

Great barrel. My lightest barrel by far. Outstanding value for a barrel and gas block. Only shot with iron sights for the first 300 rounds. Great accuracy thus far.

Super light barrel! This is one of the lightest centerfire barrels I’ve ever handled, and it makes for a staggeringly handy carbine. I actually chopped mine at 11.5″ for use with an SBR lower I have, and it works brilliantly to keep the weight down. For its length, it seems to be a good shooter as well. I haven’t taken it out too far yet, but I don’t see any signs of trouble (e.g. large groups or keyholing) at closer ranges.
Even in its shortened configuration and against a heavy buffer, the 0.070″ gas port still puts enough gas in the system to run the rifle. It’s maybe a tad undergassed, ejecting empties to 4-4:30, but it has never failed to lock back on an empty magazine. The barrel diameter for the main shank of the barrel is pretty close to 0.500″ in front of and behind the gas block journal.
Assembly was a piece of cake too. The gas block and tube fit together like they should. The barrel has a small flat opposite the gas port for the set screw to engage instead of a dimple. I don’t know enough to say if that’s superior or inferior, but it seems to work just fine. Headspace was good: maybe a little snug on the GO gauge.
Fit and finish are basic. I didn’t see any defects in the machining or alignment. The phosphate coating wasn’t ever going to win any prizes for beauty, but it’s there. The rifling and muzzle threads are clean and sharp. I strongly suspect this lot is made by Bear Creek Arsenal, which isn’t known for producing luxury components. True to BCA’s reputation, it seems to work okay but isn’t the kind of thing you don’t feel inclined to brag about to your friends.
